Summer and books have always been synonymous for me.
From the summer reading programs at the local library as a small child, to replacing friends with make-believe characters at the lake, books have always kept me company on those lazy, hazy days of summer. I consumed stacks of books one after another lying on the dock, on the deck, or tucked in bed on a rainy day at the cottage.
I later encouraged my children to read during the summer by letting them pick out a pile of favourites before we left for our 3-day road up north every year.
As we pack up for the lake once more, here are my favourite summer reads!

Best book is Where The Crawdads Sing hands down. Also enjoyed The Rose Code and The Book of Lost Names. Will investigate the rest.
